Australian Blues master and acoustic guitarist extraordinaire Lloyd Spiegel has just announced the release of his ninth album ‘This Time Tomorrow’, and is headed on an extensive tour to celebrate.

‘This Time Tomorrow’ was written as Lloyd travelled through Europe, Central and North America and delivers driving rhythms that return Spiegel to his gut bucket blues roots. Shady and colourful characters spread out over continents and decades, through places forgotten and familiar. ‘This Time Tomorrow' is a return in fine form from an artist at the top of his game, and lead track ‘Devil On My Shoulder’ sets the mood of the album right from the get go.

“Australian blues and roots icon Lloyd Spiegel, in his first Bluesfest appearance, holds his own full house in the palm of his hand, just him and his trusty Cole Clark, a full swag of songs, a full tote of stories told with humour and aplomb, the man able to make his guitar do anything at all as he tells tales both tall and true, his own superbly written material marrying with blues standards in a way few others are able to manage. The man is a mountain, he’ll surely be back.” - Rolling Stone Magazine

Phenomenal guitarist Geoff Achison & The Soul Diggers sign up

Famously traveling the globe as a soloist and employing the best musicians available wherever he goes, Geoff has established touring circuits in the USA, UK & Oz. In his time on the road he has developed a very distinct style which sets him apart from most others. No-one sounds quite like Geoff Achison & The Souldiggers and they sound like no-one else.

A virtuosic guitarist, Geoff is also a highly regarded singer & songwriter penning all of the band's materiel. Their latest album, 'Another Mile Another Minute' scooped the pool at this year's Australian Blues Music awards winning in 5 categories including Album, Song and Group of the year.

Joining Geoff at Marysville are Richard Tankard (keyboards), Roger McLachlan (bass guitar) and Andy Sylvio (drums).

Jazz & Blues Weekend Named ‘Event of The Year’ for second consecutive year

“Murrindindi Shire Community Event of the Year” has been awarded to the Marysville Jazz & Blues Weekend for the second consecutive year.

Following the success of the inaugural Jazz & Blues Weekend in 2015, a small committee of volunteers worked hard to grow the event in 2016.

Thanks to their efforts it grew substantially with 153 performers including some of the best Australian touring acts, as well as local musicians and performers.

The event proved even more popular with ticket sales up by 30% and with attendance reaching over 1,000 over the 3 day weekend.

J & B Chairman Leigh Fraser said "To win the "Community Event of the Year two years in a row was a overwhelming honour.”

“Our Jazz and Blues Weekend provides our audiences with some of the countries best international and local Jazz and Blues performers."

“The Weekend helps to support local businesses, adds substantially to the local economy and builds community spirit,” said Leigh

The committee is already hard at work promising an even bigger, better and brighter event for 2017.
